I'm ready to pull the trigger on one..(FD series), but im confused on WHAT i actually need to order with it. Am i ONLY getting the gauge and what it will read, when plugged into the OBD. I see where they have oil and fuel psi, temp sensors..etc. Not knowing if i have to buy them pigtails/sensors as well, for it to read. Obviously, i need the fuel sensor, but what about the rest? DOnt the OBD have that incorporated into it?
Also, dont want the EGT, but do i need the 5v reference configuration, for gauge/sensors to work?
If you don't want EGT but you do want fuel pressure, the only thing you'll need to buy is the fuel pressure sending unit. You won't need the 5v regulator unless you're reading EGT's. The gauge won't read oil pressure without another sending unit, but it will read oil temp and the ICP pressure.
I wouldn't be too worried about watching low pressure oil psi since the high pressure side will let you know pretty quick if you don't have oil pressure.
thanks for the feedback, Chris... What i could do, is install a on/off/on switch, and "tie" my existing oil psi to my "wvo" oil psi gauge. Have it that way with "coolant" temp.
BTW, gonna replace tranny filtert his weekend. Will cut it open and have a gander at it..(zf6 bypass filter).
