Accelerator Pump on Carter 1bbl

Accelerator Pump on Carter 1bbl
Is there anyway to adjust the accelerator pump on the carter YFA 1bbl
problem I have is on initial application of the gas pedal my truck will lunge foward then accelerate normally..this happens each time I apply the gas pedal..I"m thinking that accel pump needs adjustment..
now this is a non feedback carb that I put in plac eof my feedback..EEC I-V system is dead (somewhere) so I've been dumbing down..rebuilt a non feedback and I know I"m running lean right so could that be the issue instead of the pump?
