I can't believe that ford did not allow space in the 67-72 dashes for some kind of electric dash clock. I don't see any place the factory could or would have installed one, nor have i ever seen one on any wrecked junkyard truck. Then, the other day reading on some guy's 1967 ford registery, it states there is available a dealer installed dash clock. Is this true. Would it fit my '72? Has any of you out there even seen such a thing or know's what it looks like?
That's a nice looking clock. I'm surprised somebody hasn't reproduced them. I would buy one for sure. I can't imagine where on the dash it would go...perhaps on the glove box door.
Just where on the dash does it go? The scan dosen't show the exact location of it. Mil1ion, where did you put your clock at? Do you have a pic of your dash with the clock on it you can upload?
Not sure why, but I also wanted a dash clock. I bought mine from Ford Motorsports (quartz movement runs off car battery), and since was re-doing dash anyway I put it right in center of where radio used to go. They have in Gold/Beige (mine), Chrome/White, and I think Chrome/Black. I think it was about 35.00.
the Ford clock in the pictures can be mounted a couple of ways. the most common way was hanging from the bottom of the dash but they are often seen mounted on top of the dash as well. the clock has a foot and mounts like a tachometer. the rear cover can be removed to flip it so the foot is on teh bottom or top. i really don't think it would look nice in a pick up as it is a very small clock and is not much more than 2 inches in diameter. these are not common but they are out there. i have had a few that came in various cars and they are popular in cougar XR-7 without a console (XR-7 have the clock in the console). hawkrod
I always thought a console on the tranny hump that tied into the dash would be cool on maybe a Ranger or something. Then the clock would look good there, like the cars did.
