My truck's ect typically runs right around 190. Lately though it's been running around 205 on a short 15 mile drive (empty/not towing) at 55-60 mph. And it will not come down no matter what.
I've also noticed a huge variation in the coolant level in the degas bottle. It's always varied +/- about a half inch in the past.
I popped the hood a while back and freaked out because the degas bottle was nearly empty. I drove to the Ford dealer to get some coolant and when I got back home the level was right back up to the minimum mark just like normal. That seems like excessive variation to me.
Could this be a sign of a bad pump?
I just replaced the thermostat and that didn't change anything.
