I don't know if anyone else will be attending, but I plan on visiting the Dayton area next week for the 100 years of powered flight airshow. It should be awesome with the Blue Angels, Thunderbirds and the Snowbirds aerobatic teams all flying in the same show each of the 4 days. An historical event to say the least.
I just thought if there would be other FTE Ohio Chapter members there, we could have an impromptu meeting. Anyone have any interest or suggestions as to how to do it?
Hi Guy's Im a newbie here too, I am from Akron,OH. I just got my 1977 F100 about 2 weeks ago, Found it on Ebay Motors it was sitting in Springfield,OH, I went to pick it up and to my suprise someone had put a 1974 351 C in her. Im going to have lots of fun with this one
Originally posted by MrDeath8666 Hey, im from the Akron area too. Copley Township to be exact. I got a 91 F150 waiting to pass emissions lol.....I hate e-check.
Hey nice to meet you, I am in the Manchester/Portage Lake's area. I know what you mean about E Check, I hate it to. I am glad my 77 F100 is exempt But I have to take my 2001 windstar in for one tomorrow, so they still got me
Lets see....my HC's and carbon monoxide was way to high. Limit on HC's was 143, i got 265.1. Limit on carbon monoxide was 1.6%, i got 5.57%. So i guess i failed pretty bad.
Yeah those are some high numbers. Man what happened to the good old days when you could drive your vehicles for years till they literaly died, and then you could do a rebuilt and breath new life in them and get a few more years out of them. This emmisions stuff only benefits goverment and big buisness, heck factory's pump out more stuff into the air in one week than a truck could its whole life time. But when you have big bucks to put in a politicians pocket i guess you can do what ever you want. I remember when the emissions thing went into effect every yard and driveway you seen had a car or truck for sale, it was a great time to find alot of deals on cars and trucks but alot of people had to go into debt on a new vehicle. if the goverment was honestly concerned about the enviroment most industrial plants would be shut down. But noooo we are the real bad guys killing the enviroment with our big bad trucks..........lol ( go figure )
Yea i agree with ya on that one man. I really cant stand emissions at all. Id love to put an old 70s 460 in mine soooo bad. Also, do you happen to know any shops in the Akron area that would do some exhaust work for me? I cut both my pre-cat and 2nd cat off, and i want to buy a new dual inlet catco high flow cat. I was just wondering if any shops would weld my new cat on and than probably another pipe to be welded onto my muffler. I dont have much cash to spend so wondering if theres any places that would do a pretty good or descent job for a descent price. I dont really want to go to any of the big named places because im afraid they wont want to do anything related to my cat. Thanks!
Hey man try Budget Muffler out on cleveland massillon road in norton, they sit next door to the american weather seal factory, i am pretty sure they would do that for you and they usualy beat everyone on price too. Another thing i allways liked about them was that they will install customer supplied parts too, and they are cool about putting in systems without converters too (helps keep cost down) and they back up thier work as well i looked up thier number for ya (330) 825-2419 Give them a call and let them know what you want to do and maybe they can quote ya an estimate for the work. I am going to be calling them myself soon to see about having them install dual exhaust on my 351C for me
Hey thanks man i appreciate it! I do know where that place is, i remember my friend with a trans am got something with exhaust done over there bout a year ago. I'll definetly check them out now, forgot all about them.
As well I am from Ohio too Knox county to be exact Mt.Vernon.I have a 78 f150 4x4 that I'm debating on getting rid of.Runs and drives great body pretty decent.Really don't want to get rid of it but I'm used to Rangers and well to be honest the fuel mileage in the 78 sucks.See I love to drive and play, and I'm used to putting 20 bucks in the tank and go with the 78 and 20 bucks seems I need to be planing my next fuel stop.LOL
There's a shop just over the PA line in a nothing-little town called Fredonia. I had them put a 2 1/2" into 3" on my '87 F-250HD (no cats) that exits behind the passenger tire (starting at the Y-pipe) and it was about $180 out the door. A few guys at work recommended them, one having his exhaust on his Ch*vy for over 10 years now. It was well worth the drive down from Mentor. They are down, dirty and quick. It's not a show quality stainless, but it is better than a factory stainless. I was getting no more that 18 months out of crappy Midas/Speedy shop exhausts and mine shows no signs of problems so far.
I just did an anywho search for Fredonia and came up with Johnston's Stainless Exhaust. Now, I'm sure that wasn't the name of it when I was there a few years back, but the town is so small, this must be the place. The number is: 724-475-2645 and they are at 47 Main St.
