I've been waiting to buy an 04 F150, but I saw a really nice F250 at a local dealer today. It's an extended cab 4x4 leather interior and really sharp looking. It stickers at 35,990 but with rebates and all I could get it for 29,906.
Does this sound like a good deal or should I be able to do better? This would be the first new vehicle I've ever bought, so I'm not use to dealing with dealers to much.
Thanks.
I have to assume that this is a V8 or V10, and that the rebate is $2,500. That means you're paying between $400-600 over invoice, which is a good deal, but not a great one. Most dealers would sell this truck for right around invoice; some maybe even a little below. That covers the dollar part. Is this a dealer that you'll be using for service? Are they convenient? How well-trained are their technicians? Do they offer anything else besides price (free oil changes, service loaners, extended service hours, etc.)? Is this a dealer you want to do business with? Remember: the lowest PRICE is not always the best DEAL.
Thanks for answering the post. Yes I will be using this dealer for service and they're only 5 miles away.
I should say the price also included 1900 in tax.
So I guess it would be a pretty good deal.
I just drove it.Thanks.

No, now you have a GREAT deal! In fact, it sounds almost too good to be true. Keep us posted on the transaction- a lot of times these have a way of "changing." You know, you go to pick up the truck and the interest rate changed, they've added paint sealant or a service contract that was never discussed, etc... Just let us know how everything goes.
Well I guess it was too good to be true. The dealer accidentally gave me the extra 1000 rebate for the F 150, so the corrected price is 30969, out the door.
Well I picked up the F250 today
What a good looking truck!!
Thanks for all the help 1956MarkII !!!
Here's the deal I got............2003 F250 4x4 with th 5.4 V8 auto 3.73:1, XLT Sport and Fx4 packages, black leather interior with power drivers seat, clearance lights and towing package.
It's Oxford white with the white painted grill and bumper ,looks really sharp.
Came to 30969, now I just have to keep the paint off the seats, cause it is a work truck.

Congratulations, and thank you for checking back. It's always good to know when we've actually helped someone out. Now make sure you break in that new truck properly: as they say at the Kentucky Truck Plant- DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!!
