Hi Guys,
I was looking around to see what people had done for turbo options on the E series. I figured I would have to build my own since all the postings I found said kits were no longer being made. I did a Google search and found this:
It says it is specifically for the E series van and that it is in stock. I emailed them to make sure. They also have a hood mounted CAI available with it. Just thought I would share.
If you buy it and install it, make sure post the install pictures to the forum. Looks cool. But, I've read up on this, and there isn't a lot of options for a E250 + turbo. Aside from remote systems. Hopefully this system you linked to is legit.
when i searched several months ago, banks also had a kit listed for the vans, for a price of about 3000 bucks. i've been told the banks is better, but i haven't tried either one myself. in any case, the kit you linked to appears that it should fit. it should also fit my 87 with the 6.9, but for some reason isn't listed that way.

The kit looks like a similar set up to what was/is on this E250, except it says it is a banks. The hood scoops kinda crack me up.
This would be down the road for me, if ever. It wouldn't be until after a Gear Vendor......and the Gear Vendor wouldn't be until after a new IP and injectors.

I will have to search for the BANKS too. Any specific reason why it was better. I thought I remembered reading that you couldn't run near as much boost in the vans due to less cooling/air flow capabilities.
Did he sell it for $5500? kinda steep for a diesel van without 4x4 or an OD. But still very very nice. And I want that awning.
Don't know if he ever sold it. I was just looking t the Turbo setup and didn't really read all the thread. Hypermax does have this listed for a cowl intake for their turbo.
Looks like an interesting set-up. I can't seem to find and pics of a turbo van with the doghouse off. I would like to see what kind of room it takes up. It would stink if it made it impossible to get to items like the GP's etc.

Found this. Doesn't look too bad under there....at least not too much worse than it already is.
I think that looks sweet. I'd kind of worry about water ingestion, but otherwise it looks badass.
I would think water would be an issue. At highway speeds during a downpour I will get a "Water in Fuel" light briefly. It could be because I am missing the plastic shield in my grill that goes over the intake tube.
Wow, that is tight between the doghouse and turbo. And my dog house is already really hot without the turbo.
I thought about using reflectex on my doghouse, but I'm surprised he put it on the interior side of the doghouse---i already have a hard enough time trying to get that doghouse off and out of the cab, so making it an extra 1" thicker would be almost impossible for me.

Yeah, I always pull the front seat to make it easier to get the doghouse out.
Besides wrapping the turbo, I wonder how else you could shield the heat.......
You pull the front seat? ouch. such a pain to gain access to the engine. If I move the seats as far back as I can, i can weasel the doghouse out without full chair removal.
