I was driving home tonight and my 2005, 6.0 just shut off. Tried to re-start it, but it only turns over and does not start. I checked all the fuses and they are good. I checked the fuel pump under the drivers seat and it is working. I have a little pocket scanner and it shows no codes. So now I'm clueless. Please help.
The first thing would be to monitor a few pics while cranking like ICP, IPR, rpm and FICM sync. If ICP isn't over 500, then you would need to do an air test to locate the leak.

I'm thinking that I would have to take it to the shop. I'm not sure of anything that your speaking of. Unless you can assist me.
You need some gauges that read live data, like scan gauge II or one of the smartphone apps, like dashboss for IOS devices or torque pro for android. The scan gauge can be had at autozone for around 160 bucks.

These engines aren't too bad to work on once you've seen a few thousand of them, but they can be fairly complex for a first timer.
Happened to me also Ford dealer said it was the crank sensor replaced it and didn't start wound up being a hiflow pump. While the engine was open we also did an EGR delete to the truck. Runs great now. Jim's Powerstroke in Chanahon did the work.
