2001 chrysler 300. power/heated/tilt/slide/rise... leather is perfect just dirty and what I've cleaned looks really good. only problem, or thing I don't like is that the headrests will show in the rear window... but for the price I can live with it...
soon as I get the cab sitting upright again I can start on the frames..
John,
Those are great looking seats. But, you do know that you can't just mount those in the truck and be done with it.
There's a tried and true methodology that must be followed when putting a truck together. First, you must go with the obligatory milk crate seating for your intitial drive around the block;
Then, when you decide that you are just too short to see over the dash you have to step up to a 5 gallon bucket;
You'll get extra points if you step up to a pair of these so that you can take a buddy around the block;
If you don't follow these time honored traditions you run the risk of unbalancing the truck karma. Who knows what sort of mishappenings and chaos may ensue with unbalanced truck karma

the headrests will come out. I have a pair from a volvo.. after removing the plastic rings around the posts (lifting really), there was a slot that a tool could be inserted into to release the headrests.. best you have similar.
how much do you have to raise the seats off the floor? this has been my problem on the 56. finding buckets with the base tall enough to see out the window without a big frame under them.
I"m already thinking about that Sam... these seats have 4 tabs with holes that I can modify to fit whatever... the cab is laying (lying) on it's back right now so fab work will have to wait till it's upright again...
Yea, I understand about remving the head rests but would like to keep them to keep my head out of the rear window in case of an accident... just have to wait and see how they look...
I can fab the bases to whatever height is needed... gonna make two and try to find a console that matches ... I'm just glad I found an affordable set that are as clean as these...I made a 150 mile ride the other day to see a set that looked like they were reupholstered at the blind school... what a wasted trip... now I know why his CL pics were blurry...
I got a pair of late model F150 seats.. nice size, comfortable, but the square back also intrudes on the window space.. can't see them much in the rearview, but makes the interior look ugly. still no idea what I am doing on the 56.
I'm not quite sure how I'm going to wire in the heat part on the seats. While removing the seats from the Chrysler, I was surprised to see that the memory on the driver's seat also reset the outside mirrors.
I removed the headrests on mine.......just didn't like the look in rear window.
I notice that little computer black box... I can't imagine why I need it, other than a source of fire... does it do anything with the seats that necessary without the Chrysler to control it ???

I'm a bit in the dark on these seats. The memory still resides in the seat even though it is out of the car and appears that it can be reset. I'm going to have to spend some time looking at all those wires to figure out what I really need to retain. The important part is that the seat position switches function by just connecting the red wire to power and black to ground.
I'm running late 90's GMC Suburban seats in my 49. I opted to remove the headrests because I didn't like the looks of them sticking up intot he back glass area.
I guess if I get nailed in the rear, my head will just have to bounce off the back of the cab.
