Both were either available as a factory installed option or a dealer installed accessory / My purchased new 1965 F100 Standard Cab 8' Styleside came with the tool compartment factory installed.

1964/66: Two different lengths of tool compartments were available, one for the 6 1/2' bed, one for the 8' bed.
