Long story short: I had a local shop make me some body mounts since they couldn't find them from the dealers. Their mounts worked great for about a month and now they are squeaking again. Since I had the luxury of a quiet Ex, I'm dying with the obnoxious noise back.
Anyone know where to get body mounts for the Excursion?
Are these parts (from an old thread) all I need? Are they ACTUALLY available in stock anywhere? Are they really that expensive? Any alternatives?
The washers and bolts can be picked up at any nut and bolt store like fastenall, just make sure to at least get Grade 8 at the least. If you call that company (Name escapes me) that does race mounts in poly they might be able to get you a universal "bushing" that is the same size just a tad stiffer. I assume you're somewhere in Texas?
Are you sure it isn't your axle leaf squeak eliminators? Little nylon circles at the end of each leaf spring. After 8-13yrs they tend to be worn out or missing.
I was lucky enough to buy 12 of them (for the 3 positions that are known to go first) a while back from the dealer ( hoarder .) I replaced 6 on my 02' about 80k miles ago, truck is still silent. Saving the last 6 for future on the 05'...
When you do find them I recommend replacing set in front and behind the one that's giving you problems. It will last!!
