Reverse Sensor?

I am going to look at a 92 f150 this afternoon, and the guy who is wanting to trade trucks with me says it's a 5 speed transmission, but the reverse needs a sensor to work. He says it's a 50 dollar part. But i have been unable to find anything remotely similar at the autozone webpage. Anyone know what he might be talking about? Thanks in advance for any help.

and too, it's not a backup sensor, you know that beeps if something is behind you. He says it needs a sensor replaced before it'll go into reverse

This guy is full of it.. there is no reverse lockout with a manual trans so it sounds like his truck needs a new gearbox.
