I recently bought a 2005 F-150 extended cab 4x4 stepside that is a Texas Edition. It has 18 inch rims and Nitro 35x12.50R18 tires on it. It also has what I think to be a 3-6 inch lift on it. Real sharp truck but hell on.fuel economy. The tires are about worn out and I travel a lot with the military so I am looking for some good replacements that are fairly aggressive but economical since I need to drive highway a lot. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
You could keep a bit of aggressiveness and size by coming down to a 295/70/18 or there abouts. Not quite a 35" tire, but close. A smidge narrower than a true 35x12.5 and thus a little easier to roll along as the weight of the tire will be less.

What he sez...I went from the factory 65s on my FX4 to a Nitto 295/70/18...too noisy, but they look good..they fill up the wheel-well.
I know a fellow (body shop manager for the Lincoln dealership where I bought my MKX) with a lifted 150 with big tires...he installed 4.11s and actually got his mileage back...his trans also went back to shifting normally instead of trying to figure out what gear it should be in because his truck was lugging down at freeway speeds on any incline.
