What part of Florida? Problem is there is a big fine if anyone gets caught taking the emissions stuff off. Most business owners won't take the chance. I'd look on craigs list or in the YP for a small shop or a diesel race shop. or run an add in craigs under parts. It's not hard, most any shade tree guy with a good universial and a socket set could do it for you. Buying the tuner is the hard part, they are pretty expensive now.
not trying to highjack a thread its on topic and i am sure the op would like to know as well but is there anybody still producing delete tuners i have heard two things. 1 that companys make you sign a waiver saying you will use it for off road use only for liability reasons and 2 that it can be unlocked by some local shop. is any of that true?

OK, here is the latest as I know it. H&S now sell only "STREET" tuners, meaning no delete. However, as you said there are some speed shops advertising them for delete by unlocking the codes and selling them. The waiver thing has always been a requirment by the sellers. But, based on what the EPA has done to Edge and H&S the waivers didn't mean a thing. Also, as far as I know Spartan is still doing business out in the open. Try spartan dot com for their web site. They were the biggest seller of 6.4L tuners until H&S hit the market. But many many people have Spartan and love em. Try ebay use "dpf delete" for one of the speed shops or try the same thing on google. And of course, be prepared for some sticker shock. Hope this helps you.
hey thanks Stanley... I had a guy that was well known for doing them set up to do it .. but he's gone MIA ON ME..so I was testing the waters.. I had a gd deal on a sct tsx 8900 used.. so im hoping he calls back.. but my mechanic is supposed to know someone else. Every1 loves Spartan... I'm just not looking 2 spend 1800-2000...especially when I won't be using the outrageous hp tunes.. just wanna get the dpf on and a mild tune...since I lifted the truck I've been sick with the power I lost.
***get the dpf OFF**... im right outside of Lakeland... I found a couple h&s for around 1400.. but then you got the delete pipe 250.. labor.. and if you want exhaust.. roughly 2000 grand.. it's not cheap...but I knew that when I bought the truck

There is a product called DPF-R that lets you remove the DPF with no power increase, no code reading, and no readouts. Seems like they were around 5 bills prior to the EPA running up the price of tuners. Google DPF-R. it might just meet your needs. Trust me, when you get the DPF off the truck will feel like it has a lot more power. But, if you remove the DPF you will need to be careful cause without guages you can't see the EGTs.
well hell your good luck Stanley.. I finally got the call back..supposed to have it done Friday.. from what I know it's going to be the sct tsx 8900...with the the head display... so I should be able to keep an eye on all the vitals...egt???

Exhaust gas temperture. Very important to keep in no more than say around 1200 degrees. During regen mine would get close to the 1200 mark sometimes and I guess if you went over for a very brief period it would be OK. Some of these guys that race will probably give you a better idea of where stuff starts melting. And, sorry but I know nothing about that tuner. I've heard of SCT but it's not one a lot of 6.4L guys have. But as long as it does the job you will like it. on the first start up after the DPF is gone you will feel the difference just standing still. Good luck
hey thanks Stanley...I appreciate all the input..every litte bit helps... Yea I can't wait to crank It up for the first time...getting the exhaust done also.. so I'LL let ya know what I THINK when she's complete!
