Hey everyone I researched multiple forums but I'm not seeming to find the answer I am looking for. My baby was rear ended the other day and it got the bumper and brackets plus the tail gate.
I really like the look of the new super dutys and was curious if the rear bumper and brackets will fit on my 99 without heavy mods .... (Bolt right up). The brackets from my stock bumper are toast. I found a 2012 bumper on Craig's with brackets and no sensors and curious what it take? I also hoping to find a new super duty tailgate if the price is right!
I want to see some pics of the bumper done if any has done it ...PLEASE!!! Hoping to have it done by the end of the week. Thank you so much.
Not sure if it makes a difference but I do have a hitch on it stock .. I will add a pic of the damage done . If anyone has any other recommendations for me I'm always open to new ideas to spruce up the truck!
The bumper is only attached with 4 studs on the frame rails, and license plate lights. The variations start at mounting airbag hoses, spare tire carrier is hole is on the right side and tow wiring bracket is slightly different. If your getting the newer tailgate your going to need the roller hinge for I believe the left side. I have the gate and hinge just not mounted yet. Needs to be paint matched.
I appreciate the reply but it doesn't really answer my questions.... I know it only bolts up with 4 bolts.... But does it match the 99? Also the trailer wiring doesn't have anything to do with the bumper? I did find you had to drill a new hole to access the spare... But other than that are there any road blocks?
I'd really like to see some pics especially.... Or is it not really worth the time?.
Miller- I have a 2008 on my 99, installed with no issues. The only things that i had minor adjustments for were what was mentioned in the original post.
