Catalytic question

Catalytic question
I now own a 97 F350, 7.3 psd crew with 270,000 km's. I belive the catalytic to be original, I have no way to know for sure. If I remove it and put in a straight piece of pipe will I do any harm to the engine or turbo. Will I see any increase in performance or fuel economy. Thanks in advance for all replys.

Shouldn't do any harm and will give you more performance...doubtful on the fuel economy it being a psd and all.
My suggestion...for what it's worth; do the whole system go with the 4" duals!
