96 f350 5.8 starts skipping. I found #8 plug so corroded in hole it came apart.
Hex part of plug was held on by plug wire boot.
Check 7, 6, 5, same thing, wtf?
I guess plowing last winter filled the plug area with salt.
Needless to say, I'm pulling motor , changing oil pan, all gaskets and freeze plugs, along with rear main seal.
The good, I've always used synthetic oil, and it looks brand new inside, nice!
Still cheaper than a new one.
You could try covering the outside of the plugs in dilectric grease that isn't covered by the boots, that's what us guys that use ATVs as submarines do to protect from corrosion or shorting.
