Finally figured out a name for our new to us Ex. I will keep updating this thread as a build thread so to speak, nothing major at first. Our major uses will be camping and pulling four wheelers/dirt bikes for the kids.
I will outfit it to support us boondock camping for up to a week without resupply, and it has been requested that we have the capability of a hot shower on hand as well, so the need to carry water will be high!
I plan on making some bags/systems for interior storage, upgrading the electrical to support multiple devices while driving as well as lights and a winch, plus being able to power a trailer when needed.
This will be a long term build and naturally I will be doing the upgrades that are cheap and easy, copying from guys on this board who know way more than I do!
I have basic maintenance to do to it, plugs and wires, fuel filter blah blah blah. Plust I have some leaks, trans pan, rear axle housing cover, and front left caliper. I have all the parts on hand, just need the time to get under it for a day!
With the parts I had from another small roof rack it actually bolted right up, but I am going to need to beef it up some if I want to put any real weight on it since its still sitting on the factory rails.

You could add maybe a few thule foot packs and cross bars they can hold alot of weight thats what I had to do when I added my thule cargo carrier. The factory cross bars are junk and you can't even get a ubolt under them
I did manage to get some u bolts around mine, but I know the factory cross bars are nor preferred.
My idea is to make aluminum rails to replace the factory ones, risers so to speak, bolt in the factory location but way beefier and versatile. Depending on the weight I decide to carry on the roof, I may just put a couple hoops with cross bars inside the passenger compartment it will be a roll cage and double as supports for the roof.
