Gear Box

Hi Guys,

I just recently had my gear box snap on me. I plan on replacing the g-box with a Red Head. I am pretty confident that I have the 32 spline gear box.

Can you guys confirm it is a 32 spline as the shaft and pitman arm are damaged

Hello and welcome to FTE. First we need to know what your truck is? Year? Second you can't go wrong with a Red Head, I had mine installed 4 months ago and so far so good. I am glad I replaced mine. I have heard more and more about the shafts breaking on the stock ones. Also just call Red Head they will know what one you need.

Mine is a 2001 it had a 36 spline. earlier ones did have a 32. I knew I could get a cheaper gear box, but with all of the reviews on here I spent more for the Red Head. Also do a search on here for Red Head. Their is usually a group buy going on all the time, where you can save some money. I started my own group buy and was able to save $30 on mine.

A 99 might have either. Call RedHead and ask them or get under there and actually COUNT the splines (instead of asking people who cannot see your truck).
