F 350 1994 Turbo 7.3 ?'s Trans ?
I know this motor is a one year wonder and then they went power stroke, what kind of problems does this generation have compared to a standard IDI or Power Stroke. Also how do these older chasses compare to the newer generations.
I know the earlier OVER Drive trannies were known to have problems just wondering how good a 1994 was.
I am looking at a F 350 Dually pick up with 222000 miles on it for like 2800. Some insight would be great on a good work truck.
Thanks for helping me out.

The engines are very strong, at the very least a one year wonder as they were basically the same engine as all of the other n/a idi engines. The transmissions are kind of touch and go from what I have seen and heard. And as far as the truck it's self well, Built Ford Tough stands for all generations of the F-series(enter cheesy 90's sales pitch)

I assume you are talking auto trans. By 94 they had the e4od pretty well figured out. They are expensive to rebuild or replace if needed, buy a lot of times its just a matter of replacing an electronic trans part. The 5 speed mt is more desirable to most people, but that truck has a pretty good drietrain, especially if you prefer an auto trans over mt.

Thanks for the help, how much better is the suspension on a 350 vs the good 250's ? and brakes?
I have been looking into the newer diesels and I think for a work truck they are to complicated. I mean a power stroke is like high $ if something goes wrong. I think for me being a poor gypsy I like the old wooden war wagon stuff. I mean come on only if you pull like big loads is a big power diesel necessary other than that I cannot see it.
