KPD60 Real Weight Limits

I figure there is more heavily used KPD60s here then any other section of the forum.

What I'm curious about is where others are finding the limits of weight bearing stress on the KPD60 front axle. I've seen lots of stuff about breaking steer joints and stub shafts from wheeling and big tires and such. What I'm curious about is just weight, at what point your going to kill bearings, king pin bushings etc. Along with any breakage, anyone ever broke the spindle bolts, knuckle, or tube at the housing from weight for example?

If someone drives around with say 8,000lbs on the front axle what is going to fail? I'm going to assume 8,000lbs is too much, what isn't?

I'm guessing for example some of you guys with snow plows might roll around with upwards of 6000lbs on yours and it's standing up to it?

Edit, apparently the official weight rating is 4500lbs but I think it's safe to say it can handle quite a bit more then that, but what?

The FAWR on the truck is the manufacturers rating of the whole system, including all the suspension, steering, wheel & tire, brakes, etc. The axle itself usually isn't the weakest link. Dana/Spicer rates their current D60 front crate axle (ball joint) for 7350 lbs.
