While doing my first oil change on my new-to-me Excursion, I noticed this. The part (large pin of sorts) is protruding out. It is like this on both sides.
Is it supposed to be like this? This is on a 04 V10 2WD Limited BTW...
Thanks!
It's probably something they used on the assembly line. Like the pins and bosses on engine blocks and the vertical pins coming out of the frame on the obs trucks.
Was curious because there is a hole on the other side of the frame piece, yet I can't see that they are holding anything together. As long as all is normal!
Yes its a factory lift point. I have a 2005 job2 version of your truck and its in the same place.
Hope you enjoy it!
I love mine, I just wish I could buy a 2013 with a 6.7 deisel. I have the v10 limited, with a 4.30, banks tuner, airraid intake, 285/70 BFG Load range E All terrains. 138K miles and have never had to do anything but normal maintenane. I do run Mobil 1 synthetic oil which seem to yield a little better MPG ( 0.1 or 0.2 MPG) and the trucks seems to idle smoother
