GEM module.... Maybe? I don't know

I had a friend come over today to help me chase a parasitic draw in my truck. It turns out its the gem not shutting off with the key off. I've had a problem with the battery's draining for awhile now. 2 days is all the battery's will hold a charge. The third day it won't spin the engine over.
What exactly does the gem do? Does it affect power at all? Ive been chasing a power loss for about a year now. Where can I get a gem module at a good price?

Bump. Everything works just fine only issue is power does not shut off like it should just draining my battery's.

The GEM is behind t he fusebox. It controls the electric functions in the truck, radio, switches, etc. If it's not shutting off, yeah, I imagine that would drain the batteries. Any leaks? Check the fuse box/area for any signs of water.

No signs of water anywhere. How would I go about getting it to shut off? Do I just need to get a new GEM from somewhere to make this problem go away or could there be another cause of it staying on? Where can I find one if I need one? I can't seem to locate a new one

I bought mine from autopartscheaper.com. When i had a power draw and found out it was the G.E.M, i popped the dash trim off and behind the headlight switch is a hole just big meat hooks in. I don't know if a 2001 is the same as my 99 or not, but on mine besides being bolted to the back of the fuse block, it has two plugs on the side. I found that the top plug controlled the radio, power windows, dash, headlights, just about everything in the truck you use everyday. The other plug? well i really don't know without just guessing. I don't have shift on the fly but that could of been that half. I drove around with that lower plug undone until my new one came in. I also got the fuse block from the same place, which came with the fuses and relays. When i did unplug that lower plug, half my 9.2 volt power draw disappeared.....thank you fte for showing me how to check for a power draw
