Hello all, new to site and new to Fords actually. Just bought a 2003 E550 box van and am in need of some advice.
The boxvan is in good shape but needs love in some areas and I can't seem to source parts.
The interior needs to be redone in spots. the rubber floor is beyond cleaning and would like to replace it.
- where can I buy new replacement factory rubber floor? Haven't found anything aftermarket
Headlights a bit dim, would like to replace also.
- Any aftermarket options for headlights? Maybe in the newer style projector or led?
Wood floor in box has a couple of holes in it.
- Where can I find replacement wood. Not looking for pressure treated or plywood but actual original type floors?
Spend a bit of time on eBay Motors and you'll be pleasantly surprised finding a lot of new/nearly new OEM parts for very decent prices. I've not only bought numerous parts but three complete vans too---still own tow of 'em!
Prices vary wildly, shipping can sometimes push final prices too high--just have to be a careful and informed shopper is all. Patience is always rewarded, assuming you have the luxury of time to acquire whatever parts etc you're looking for.
As for the composite or aero-style headlight assemblies I'd avoid any aftermarket parts---they're too cheap and simply don't last too long before becoming hazy from exposure to the sun and environment. While sealed beams might seem a bit old-fashioned IMHO and experience they work best for most applications.
Anyway hope this helps and good luck shopping------and welcome to FTE too!

I replaced my sealed beams with plug and play H4 (like European cars), try AutoPal (oem to many german cars incl Volkswagen). Note these are much brighter than any DOT unit....think bright like a new Audi or Mercedes.
Then get the HD relay kit from LMC Truck to brighten them more, plus they're safer with not all that current running through your stock headlight switch! Truck Parts and Truck Accessories
Full agreement not everything in the aftermarket is equal but from my own personal viewpoint the composite light assemblies just don't hold up over time. The idea of more and brighter light properly directed is enticing though---no disagreement there!
Mr Plow Truck's link is interesting---even if the lamp housings don't last too long they're not much more than my Sylvania Bright Star's at $26 each--easily replaced if needed. (Interesting customer reviews on those housings---kinda encouraging!)
Running relays triggered by the stock headlight switch is a great idea; several ways to do that, most very sound and well thought out. Here's but one example: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...er-lights.html (Some of what's there doesn't necessarily apply to our vans however much of the engineering is sound, would transfer easily if this concept is incorporated. Lots of good links for parts and supplies too.)
