Here is a pic of the entire top of the tank. You can see the vent connection on each end. The hoses pulled off easily enough for me, and I stuck them right back on when reinstalling. I can't remember if there was a check valve on each end, or just the one shown in the other pic, but I'm thinking there were two. Either way, they are plumbed together. If a tank is holding pressure, I would suspect a problem with that check valve/vent.

The OP definitely said vacuum so I'd have to suspect that also.
Bill, I'm already ahead of you on leaving the cap loose until I can get back on my feet to start wrenching again. I found this by accident so i have a list that's getting a little behind,but i do appreciate the effort everyone is putting out to check on this for me. I will get to the bottom of this and let everyone know what was the issue. i am going to take the bed off to install a B+W hitch so it will make it alot easier to check out........Bill
