ICP issue

Right before RRE and I have a new issue...RPS between 1600-2100 the truck starts to skip/miss/surge...watching Infinity and the only thing I see is the ICP is bouncing around while this is happening..Also, I am seeing way more smoke across the board than it should be....Whats up???
rotational velocity is good, buzz test good, no codes..other than the 1600-2100 and smoke, the truck runs good..no EGT issues,no boost leaks...
Ideas??

Have you replaced your ICP sensor? It could be getting oil in the connector. That will cause some odd issues.

I have not looked at it yet but it is new, i'd say less than 8 months (from factory)

Crap. Those are loose injector symptoms. Has the cackle been getting louder lately? How has your fuel pressure been behaving?

Rich, no loud crackle..the fuel pressure is moving around a little, sometimes it will drop 3-4 psi and slowly build back up

3-4 PSI is nothing to call your attention to. According to your PM, you are well above 50 PSI and that's all good. My loose injector issue would actually make the fuel pressure spike up. Combustion gasses would escape past the fuel O-ring and shock the fuel - causing the bucking.

Skipping over that... it's possible you need a tuning tweak in that part of the fueling map, or you could have a mechanical/sensor hiccup.

joeyd61 and I talked on the phone yesterday to compare adventures in Buck$Zooka busting, and it sounds like he has "not-quite 100 percentitus".

He's stuck between a stumble at low throttle (like cruise control), or smoke at any acceleration... and three tuners couldn't quite suss it out. ICP is suspect.

ICP sensor. Or the wiring. Do you have the new style with the bigger base?

possibly, what gets me is the issue can be moved around with tunning..
smoky or skipping on throttle or skipping off throttle
