lpop issues

lpop issues

2000 7.3 powerstroke....should the pulley on the oil pump spin by hand if the belt is removed. having starting issue and there is oil on just about everything. not sure what happen but it cutt off while driving so i checked oil and dip stick was dry. never had oil stain under truck when truck was park so i was unaware of any oil leak. any suggestion on where to start diagnosing the problem'

What pulley are spinning by hand exactly? There is not a pulley for the oil pump per se. The low psi pump is run inside the crank pulley which is the lowest one(biggest too). If u turn that one by hand, you have major issues. The high psi pump is gear driven.

Start by putting oil in it and see where it comes from when cranking.
