I tried the muffler delete on my 06 v10 f350, it sounded way better than I thought a v10 could sound but was very loud. Now it has a magniflow super turbo on it and has more of a very deep humming sound.
That's what I worry about when I think about removing the muffler. I do a ton of driving and I don't want it to be obnoxiously loud, especially when I'm under a heavy load. Could we get a sound clip?
Did you do the whole Magnaflow or just the muffler exchange? Cleaning the MAP does make sense. I have hear that the element oil has been know to cause problems, but I think regular cleaning and the correct amount of oil should take care of that.
The muffler shop I went to replaced the pipe from the Y at the cats and went with the "middle" loudness Magnaflow, can't remember the model or part number. I was told that the loudest one was just too loud for most folks.

Pappy, the next time you come by, I would love to hear your truck. I have the muffler delete option and am thinking about putting one back on it, just don't want the restriction.
here's a few pic's. sorry, can't find the part #. I do know I got the quieter of the two options I had. Magnaflow's HQ is 5 mins away from me, so I went there and asked one of their guys which one would be best for what I wanted. I kept the tip tucked up and hidden as possible. I'm not into the big-ol' tips. Also, hard to see here, but the last tip I had bent up the rear quarter panel, I landed it on a boulder when I was out wheelin'.
You can get a deep sounding v10, between 500-2000 rpm. Cut your exhaust just below the back axel under the box, and angle it towards the ground. Kinda like a quicker v8 rumble
That's exactly what it sounded like just with out the turbo. I'm going to try a straight through muffler next, if I don't like that I may just go back to the straight pipe and let dad **** about how loud it is lol.

I totally agree with you on this one. I know it's a personal preference, but...I chuckle to myself every time I see a diesel truck with ~6" chrome tip. Or, better yet, a Civic with a ~4" tip. That's just me, though.
