A question about a fuel pump issue...
Will the Fuel Pump, Hanger, and Sender Assembly from a 1988 Bronco II work in a 1989? The reason I ask is because I need a new fuel pump for my 1989 and a 1988 one is way cheaper.

I checked Autozone.com and sure enough they are different part numbers, although I can't imagine why. Will be interested to hear if anyone knows. Here's a picture of my '88 unit in the tank if it helps at all.

I believe the 88 fuel in tank pump has a lower PSI than the 89. The 88 uses two pumps. One in the tank and one on the frame rail. The fuel tank pump is a "feeder" pump for the higher pressure pump on the frame rail. The 89 uses a single high pressure pump (in the tank).
