been having some problems with the 88, every now and then for what seems to be impervious to outside conditions, it will not completely stall, but similar to when a tank runs out of gas it will "idle" while coasting (but not sitting still) and will give out completely when you give it throttle. but sort of catch and hit and miss when you close the throttle. and changing tanks doesn't do anything.
usually when it does this I pull over, wiggle around wires under the hood, and usually after a few tries he will fire up like nothing happened. I have not been able to pin down which area that gets it to run again!
I have verified that it has spark and fuel is present (no fuel pressure readings yet, if i permanently carry around a pressure gauge it won't do it)
i pulled code 29, 34, and 87 off of it, and 87 caught my eye, according to the wiring diagram the pressure pump power is spliced in with the two tank lift pumps, is there any way that it would detect an intermittent fault in the wiring to the pressure pump? are there any known problems in the fuel pump wiring?
please excuse me not having all the info I could, I got...aggrevated... and had to change directions for the evening...
