is this the correct dipstick ?

I have the 1994 IDI e4od and have added an ATS turbo it was used and did not include the dipstick and the dipstick that I have is twenty eight and 1/2 inches long from end to end including the handle. the handle is white with a round ring. The reason I am describing it is because there is etching that the previous owner put on it above the hash marks as if this was not the original dipstick. Question: I know I know I can't use the dip stick holder but can I use this dipstick and look for a dip stick holder for the ats kit. Should I just shorten it up and access it from the bottom. If I did that does anyone know how far from the end of the tube on the trans to the end of the stick. Or is there a better way to do it. I'm trying to hit the road and want to look for a holder eventually but have to make $ I have been dealing with this truck for two weeks. Thanks for any help

Here is a better way to word it ........does anyone know where the full level inside the pan looking at it from the outside (underneath the truck) should be?? The back trans line is above where the pan meets the trans......wouldn't that be where the level would have to be. As I remember I think you can see the end of dipstick when removing the pan to change filter. I'm trying to determine where to cut the stick so I can just read it by going under and pulling of out from there.

I think I have both sticks. I will try and measure them tonight and tell you what the difference is.

As far as how far it hangs into the pan, you could put your stick in the tube and measure how far below it hangs past the edge of the tube, this is with the tube pulled out of course.
