302 engine problems

(93 f150 2wd aod) after driving no more than 5 to 10 miles (or 10 to 15 minutes) the engine begins stalling. most of the time to the point of a complete stall. the truck has been doing this very very reliably lately. no outside factors (weather, load, speed, acceleration) seem to affect this at all. I have replaced several components at my uncle's suggestion to no avail. (he is a well educated repairman). all help will be appreciated. I had another thread going but it died quicker than my truck does.

can you give any more detail? does it start back up? does it sputter like loss of fuel related then stall? or does it just all of sudden stall

<table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="6" cellpadding="0"><tbody><tr><td class="alt2"></td><td nowrap="nowrap">92cruisinblue- sometimes it will start back up but most times I have to wait. it desnt ever just stall immediately. it just slwly dies out and like I said most of he time it stalls completely. sometimes I can put it in park and idle but its not easy to feather the throttle enough to keep it running

<table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="6" cellpadding="0"><tbody><tr><td class="alt2"></td><td nowrap="nowrap">timbersteel
</td></tr></tbody></table>as far as codes go I do have some:
koeo-11
kam(cm)-41,33,34
koer-41,33,13,52

and yes im certain they are 2 digit codes. from what I understand Ford had the 2 and 3 digits going on at this model year

</td></tr></tbody></table>

Try again with the codes, only count the blinks as if they were 3-digit codes. '92 was the switchover year from 2- to 3-digit codes. In 9+ active years on this forum, I've not seen anyone with a '93 that had 2-digit codes. Plenty of folks with '92s that are 2-digit, and plenty with '92s that are 3-digit, but I've never seen that spill into '93. (The '93 F250 I had was most definitely 3-digit codes--when I had a TPS code and replaced the TPS, no more problems. When I had a tranny problem, there was a tranny code flashing, etc.)

It is rare to get two digit codes with your '92 F150, but very plausible since you have an AOD. I think your code count is good.

My research shows 1991 was the year Ford started to transition from two to three digit codes. I have run across a few 1993 and later Ford trucks that were still showing two digits codes. I was very surprised, but they are out there. Usually these later model trucks had C6 transmissions and two digit codes. That is why I suspect the OP's truck is displaying two digit codes because it has an AOD.

There is always the chance someone swapped in an older PCM as well.

I'll agree those are 2-digit codes, no question.

Okay, let's see.

Code 52--did you turn the wheel during the KOER test?

33 and 34 are related to the EGR system, which, if faulty, can cause rough running.

13 and 41 lead me to think that you may have a problem with your IAC--it may be stuck, which is why the computer can't adjust the RPM during the test, or maybe your butterfly valve is stuck slightly open, or it may be that your HEGO sensor(s) may need to be replaced. I'd start by checking your throttle body and cleaning the IAC.

i did in fact turn the steering wheel. as soon as the engine id lights stopped I turned the wheel and pushed the brake. not sure if the brake light test is important on my truck but I did it anyways. how would I test the egr issue? I will clean and or replace the iac today while I have the time. I did end up replacing the hego within the last 10,000 miles due to the fact it was busted from rust building up inside of the sensor. (the truck had been in a backyard from 2003-mid 2012)

Here's a start:

Fuel Injection Technical Library » EGR Valve Position sensor (EVP)

The EGR valve is vacuum controlled, so there's also this:

Fuel Injection Technical Library » EGR Vacuum Regulator (EVR)
