Got no choice but to take my old 97 PSD on a road trip. kinda worried what do ya think?
Hi all, yep, I'm scared, got to admitt. Vacation time and our newer family car is damaged and will not be available for vacation. I've got a 97 F250 PSD with 269,000 on the clock. Runs awesome and has never let me down. Do I load up and bring her to Kentucky from Long Island/ or chicken out and rent a car? What would you do? (I do want to take her. It'd be 1600 mi round trip)
Lots of guys depend on their OBS powerstrokes with far more miles than that. Make sure it is in good order and I would be more comfortable taking that than anything else.
ok guys thanks for the shot of confidence. Yeah for sure, service and a good once over. My worries are that with its advanced age, if something does break it'd be major. I really am looking forward too it though. love that old girl. Thanks God Bless.
my 88 has 496,000+ miles on it and i would not think twice about going cross country with it if i did not have the 02 or the crown vic.
Your life sounds rough!
I purchased mine with 165k on it and didnt get to do anything but change the oil before i drove 600 mile round trip to visit family. Nothin wrong with it at all.
those are the three prime movers Alex.
i also have the 04 F-350 4X4 with 12,000 miles on it that is still being put together, a 2000 F-250 with 35,000 miles on it that got crushed by a tree, a 65 falcon, a 66 7 litre 4 speed ragtop, 3 79 F-350 4X4's and a 78 F-350 2 wheel drive.
