Hi all, yep, I'm scared, got to admitt. Vacation time and our newer family car is damaged and will not be available for vacation. I've got a 97 F250 PSD with 269,000 on the clock. Runs awesome and has never let me down. Do I load up and bring her to Kentucky from Long Island/ or chicken out and rent a car? What would you do? (I do want to take her. It'd be 1600 mi round trip)

Thanks Vinny

I'd be servicing it, doing a good once over, and hitting the road!

Agreed. As long as everything is up to par, I wouldn't bat an eye at jumping in mine and driving anywhere in the states.

Lots of guys depend on their OBS powerstrokes with far more miles than that. Make sure it is in good order and I would be more comfortable taking that than anything else.

Do you think it will get you to work every day? If so, drive it. Travelling in a 3/4 ton is much more comfortable than a car any day.

ok guys thanks for the shot of confidence. Yeah for sure, service and a good once over. My worries are that with its advanced age, if something does break it'd be major. I really am looking forward too it though. love that old girl. Thanks God Bless.

Your life sounds rough!

I purchased mine with 165k on it and didnt get to do anything but change the oil before i drove 600 mile round trip to visit family. Nothin wrong with it at all.
