i need advice
i bought a 55 f-100 when i was 15 and it was a piece of junk, but what can i say i only paid $250.00 for it.
it was in five gallon buckets when i brought it to the house.
i have been working on it for 4 years and i just got the body back together and on the frame. (i am a full time student)
i have a 77 camero sub frame but i want to know how hard it is to put the sub frame under a 55 ford
There is a thread down below your post on that very thing... labeled "IFS vs Clip" with some info.. also do a search on Camaro or IFS or front clips and a bunch of discussion will appear . We beat this subject to death...
Welcome to the world of FTE.. I really can't help you with the Camaro... I've only tried stock, Volare and now Mustang II... but there are Camaro clippers hers with all the poop... er.. info...
hope that helps and feel free to jump in all the time

I went the Camaro clip route some years ago on a 34 Plymouth sedan, but not on a truck. I didn't have much choice on that one since someone had already butched the front end to the point that the original frame was no good anyway. The Camaro clips work well, but I can tell you from personal experience that there is a lot more fabrication involved in installing one than there would be with some other suspensions like Mustang II or Volare where you don't have to cut off the frame and fabricate core support brackets. Look into other options like the Volare or Chrysler T-Bar, Aerostar, AMC Pacer, and others before deciding on the Camaro. If you don't have pretty good welding skills, have it installed by a competent shop.
i am new to this site but i think you can help.

Measurements include:
Wheel base left and right frame rail.
Tilt side to side.
Tilt front to rear.
Getting clip and frame parallel, x and y axis.
Blending the clip to the frame.
Levelling the front frame rails, x and y axis.
Blending the front frame rails to the clip so you can mount the core support in the right position.
You hope that the parts you weld togetther were straight to start with. (my clip had problems, I learned later)
It took me 10+ hours to get it "right." Then I started welding over the tacks. I did it once. Quoth the Raven "Nevermore"
I did a Gibbons/Cordoba setup the second time around.
