socket size?

hi guys,
I have tried all sizes of sockets that are available out there but none of them fit the lug nuts of my f150 2009 xlt.
when I go to get tires changed, the guys at the local tire shop get pissed off because they can't seem to find the right socket either.

do i need a special socket like some of the aftermarket lugnuts use?

thanks

I didn't buy the truck new so it might be that the previous owner used the wrong socket and screwed up the lug nuts

I've seen that plenty of times, I used to work in a tire and off road shop.
