My truck suddenly has NO power. I mean it almost doesnt move. While driving it revs up very slow, and it sounds like its bouncing off a rev limiter way before it should. The only code im getting is code 327 which is an evp code. I took apart the egr valve and its operating fine. I even had it running without the egr tube connected and nothing changed. I had a similar problem happen to me twice. Once was the coil, once was the alternator. I put a new coil in and nothing changed. Any ideas before i throw an alternator at it? I have 13.3 volts at the battery at idle.
Its a 92 f150 4.9 5 spd 4x2. Thats usually in sig idk why its not showing up. Whats the best way to check fuel pressure? Schrader valve at the rail? And a fuel filter can clog this suddenly and cause my issue as well? I was thinking its electric.
You'll need a gauge on there to know if you have a fuel problem too, it's not enough to depress the shrader valve to see if fuel squirts out.. for that motor the system should make 50-60psi and even 15-20lbs below that is a problem.
Would this year truck have a limp mode the ecu may have defaulted to??? If it sounds like its hitting the limiter, do you mean like missing? An evp code is just emissions fuel tank leak iirc. Maybe timing has slipped a tooth or the dist is loose.

It literally hits what sounds like a honda hitting the rev limiter. But its doing it at fairly low rpms and it takes forever to spin up
Start with replacing the filter, if pressures don't improve, consider a new pump. 30-40 at idle is tremendously low, at part throttle the engine is probably starving for fuel.
I changed the fuel filter and things improved, but something was still wrong. Now, ive been using only the bank tank because gas from the front tank leaks into the back. I decided to try putting gas in the front and using it. Presto. The truck is back to life. Better than it has been in months. I must have a bad pump in the back tank. I wish the front tank didnt leak so i could just use it. Whatever atleast i found the problem. Thanks for all the help from everyone!
