I am getting really bad reception. The first thing I thought I would do is simply remove the head unit make sure that the antenna plug is seated all the way. Not sure exactly how this is done.
its kind of time consuming, What you want to do first is pull up the window controller bezel that's in-front of the armrest.
-Theres 2 bolts (8mm I think) under it. It holds the plate that wraps around the shifter. You need to pull it up, you might get away with not removing it completely. Theirs 2 harnesses to be aware of there one for OD the other is the gear indicator.
-Now the fun part there should be 2more 8mm bolts on the bottom of the plate that hold the head unit. Remove those and start to gently pull on the panel.
I worked it from the top till I was able to disconnect the clock and work my way down.
Hope this makes sense, another thing you may want to check is power to the antenna (i believe that vehicle has an amplified antenna)
I would check the power first
I dont know. I've never dug that far into it. I installed a new head unit in mine and didnt hook up the 'power ant' lead. The reception was trash. wired it up and back in business. Hopefully someone else can chime in.
Amplifier is under the gear lever. Easiest way to access it is by removing the panel on both front and rear of the navigation's dvd unit (I guess it's called rocker panel?). But if you plan to remove or replace it, you will have to remove the center console trim just like how you do when you want to remove the radio.
