Happy Independence Day!!!!!!
As you enjoy the holiday, today, please remember those men and women of our Armed Forces, who are fighting to keep this great nation FREE, and those men and women that have paid the ultimate price.
Do not let their sacrifice be in vain.
Celebrate America. Celebrate Freedom!!!!!!!

Whether or not you agree with the politics behind any particular conflict in which our nation is involved around the world, any time a person signs up for the military, they know they may have to lay down their life for their fellow citizens in defense of the country. Whether they join and serve without incident, or whether they fall, making that commitment deserves respect.
And, if you don't care for the celebration of Independence, turn in your guns, zip your lip and go pledge allegiance to the Queen of England, because you'd be her subject were it not for some very courageous men 237 years ago.

It's the government spying on citizens, and having some thug with a badge get in my face every time I want to board an airplane that I don't care for. If you're ok with this then why don't you go live in England. You won't have any privacy at all. And I hear they still speak English there.
Unbeknownst to the OP, these wars in the Middle East are a direct attack on our freedoms. This country is bankrupt and corrupt to the core. They've imposed numerous restrictions on our legal rights and are working to impose some form of gun control, literally as we lay in our beds and sleep at night. And they've killed or destroyed tens of thousands of our best and bravest young men. While they lie in our faces with talk of patriotism and sacrifice.
Just for kicks and grins......... what do you know about me??? Nothing.
How can you be so sure of what I know and what I don't know??? You can't.
For what it's worth, I STILL think this is the greatest country on Earth, and we are the greatest collection of immigrants to settle this great nation.
I will not get into politics in this thread or this sub-forum.
The owners and administrators of this site have asked us to not do that, here.
I will respect their wishes. I'm a guest in their home.
In the future, please refrain from making assumptions as to what I know and what I don't know.
I'm sure you're aware of that word "assume". Leave 'me' out of it, and we have the rest displayed for all of us to see.
As the person that started this thread, mods/admin/owner, please feel free to lock this thread and/or make it go away.
I apologize to FTE for thinking that this might have been a good way to say Happy Birthday to the United States of America.
