Alright, right now I drive a 95 Silverado 5.7 and am looking for a new(er) truck. Want a diesel this time and I'm looking at a 04 f250 6.0 with 180,000 miles. Was just wondering if the main problems that these engines have would have arisen by 180,000 miles? So most should be fixed by now right? Or should I keep looking for a 02 or 03 7.3l but this one was close and cheaper from someone my mom knows so imma get a deal. Think I should for about $9,000? Thanks fellas.
Have ya got service records and get a scanner or torque app to ck it out and post the numbers here and we'll help you to decide if ya want to go for itbut, remeber these trucks aren't like your GmC, they love to be maintained and loved and will keep you happy if you do

I don't have any way to scan it atm. And I'm pretty good with maintenance I think. Never miss a oil change, all fluids flushed regularly, replace fuel and oil filters regularly, ect. Never had a diesel tho so not sure quite what all maintenance is required on em compared to a gas truck....
go ck the 6.0 bible at the top of the treads and READ them through and you will have a better understanding of this truck. I was a GM guy for years and and good marine tech, and this truck is like no other animal I ever had

Very critical on a 6.0 that all filters and caps are OEM. If it's ever been tuned that can present other problems to include the tranny. 6.0 is robust but proper maintenance on schedule is critical. Maint. records on a used one are worth their weight in gold.
