Help buying 2008

Looking at a 2008 f350 crew cab it has 82000 miles clean oasis and car fax it was build jan 16 2008 so I think it's a job 3 truck. I'm also looking at a 2010 with 65000 on it haven't seen a oasis report yet what should I be on te lookout for and what common problems with the 08's. I will be tuning and deleting ether way

6.4 with the emissons is a hwy/towing motor. That is where it runs best and has the fewest of problems.

Radiators are a weak spot. Anything 08 and up to present have plastic on the ends of the radiator and they are prone to leaking. So be sure to check those seams.

Radiator hoses sometimes leak two. Updated hoses are white where it connects to the motor and now has a double 0-ring design. Check for leaks with a flashlight.

Just general checking all fluids.

Should have the dpf still on so check the tail pipe. Should be pretty clean to maybe a little gray. If otherwise then we need to find out why. Maybe deleted?

thanks, what about injectors? I heard 08 had injector troubles and blocks cracking. I'll admit I've been shying away from 08 because of what I've read

injectors are fine. There was a recall for job 1 trucks way...back at the tail end of 2007 when it was first produced. Your truck was not involved and if it was it would have been fixed.

Injector issues would become a problem if you get water in your fuel. Just like any of the big three...and VW. Anything built after 2008 model year with high pressure common rail fuel injection does not like water.

Getting your fuel from high volume places, frequent draining of the fuel water separator and changing of the filters will be needed. It is not as much as it sounds.

Can I ask why you got rid of the 6.7?

Also if you can post a link or pictures when you find one you like we can look at it to maybe spot a concern.

Degas bottle, tail pipes and a general look at the motor helps a lot.

I wrecked it and just didn't want it after that, truck ran great and had no issues but I'm wanting to get a house and looking for a lower truck payment and something with a little more aftermarket following.
