I know alot of guys run a twin set up on the 240's. anybody ever done it on a 300?
I know it's large enough to just use a 4bbl, but I've recently fell in love with the weber 32/36 a progressive two barrel. It's incredibly easy, smooth when the secondary kicks in, great muleage(of course when it's done right)
I really want a progressive carb.
Do y'all know of any that are good with the 300? Any that are a 2 to 4 progressive?
All of this is till in the planning stage along with headers and and intake( stock emission and get still work great, for now.
We ran a set years ago on a 240, it was in a 1965 F-100, ran pretty good too. Used a pair of the Pinto carbs and even kept the hot water chokes. At one time Holley had a progressive variant of the 2300, but it seems to have vanished.
A boy (he was 17 at the time) who worked for me put a pair of Stromberg 4A carbs that were used on a 53 Buick on his Chevy 250 six, we put the sideways on a Clifford intake and synchronized the primaries. I have seen people use the old pre-1957 Holley carbs, they were small vacuum secondary style and due to the top mounted float bowl were pretty immune to angle.
