Shock absorber and frame problem

I have a 2002 f150 xlt 5.4l v8 and the part of the frame that the top of my shock goes through and bolts on cracked and bent upwards to the point which the top of the shock isn't even connected to my truck anymore. I need to know how to get the fixed and if it needs a pro or I can do it my self

I would let a frame/body shop look at it to make sure it isn't a safety issue. They can also guide you in the right direction for repairing the frame if it safe to do so.

My sons' '98 F-150 4WD had a shock do exactly the same thing as yours. The problem was caused by a Rancho shock they sold him that was the wrong length, it was too long in its collapsed position. In other words the shock shouldn't bottom out before the suspension does. The part that broke out can be rewelded in place. Make sure the shock is the right one for your truck and that you can collapse it by hand easily.

well what did they lift? Add blocks or just crank up the torsion bars ? Should be blocks on the rear axle you can measure... Lift kit / long shocks / broken frame... this is starting to add up.
