Question Tuner/Code reader reccomendations? 97 F250 PSD
Good afternoon!
I'd like some reccomendations on tuners/code readers for my truck and where to get them. From my searching, everything says 99 and up, but not many mention the older years. Truck has 7.3 and auto..E40D I believe. I need one that will also pull the trans codes. Any ideas? Also, what price range?

Good luck finding a good turner and reader together for these for good ones gotta buy em individually

Ts 6 position with custom tunes and a scan gauge of some sorts

Ok, how about just a scanner for now? Which ones work and which ones don't?

Auto ingenuity I heard is a good one someone should chime in on those I know there's a decent one out for 200 or 250 but can't remember the name of it

Do you know where to get one? Will it pull the transmission codes as well? I've done some reading and I gather that the parts store ones won't.

Aeroforce scan gauge is what lots of us have, its just a 2 1/8"? gauge, small one. It does about all you need to do. It will get trans codes. AE is put on a laptop, it is the best, but costs

I think a superchips will pull codes and is probably the best tuner for our trucks. A good custom chip is a lot better though.

You're right, parts store ones won't work.

Super chip is very very very mild tune I didn't really notice much difference bit keep it around to run check engine light codes doesn't do anything else though no trans or nothin
