Good Morning NorCal...Man, we sure have had a lot of smoke in the air around here for the last few days. I've heard it was from a fire in Oregon, but it seemed to smell a lot closer. Looks like fire season has arrived.

Have any of you tried to use scotch-brite pads instead of steel wool? I really like the pads for woodworking, mostly because there are no bits of metal left in the pores of the wood. The white scotch-brite pads (which I use to remove rust from chrome parts) are every bit as fine as 0000 steel wool, and they really last a long time.

Sorry, that was a little long winded...Hope you all have a great day.

There is a fire north of Shaver Lake down in my area that has burned over 8k acres as of yesterday.

Haven't tried the white Scotch Brite pads. Will have to check them out sometime. However, I bought a package of steel wool at the Dollar Tree store, and there are still plenty left, so it may be awhile.

the magic eraser are wonders when you have KIDS around ,but they fall apart when lots of hard scrubbing is to take place and I don't let my Wife see me scrub that hard LOL I do use those white scotch-brite pads but not this time for the rims.

Im right up by the Oregon border. Smokes not near as bad as I've seen it but it's not pleasant. I hear it's coming from a fire near Grants Pass, Or.

I didn't let you guys know I was leaving, but I'm home! I've been in Colorado for about 10 days. It was a nice escape from the heat here.

Good Morning NorCal...From what I've heard, the smoke is from two fires along Hwy 199. One fire is near the town of Cave Junction, and the other is near Myrtle Creek. That whole are burned big time about 8 years ago. "The War Dept." and I were pulling a trailer across that road then, with fire on both sides... I couldn't believe that road wasn't closed.

Hope you all have a great day

Damn Jim, you feel like four asterisks? That's not good. Feeling like one asterisk is bad enough, but four? I guess on the bright side you could feel worse: You could feel like FIVE of 'em!

Humor aside, I hope it's a quick bug and you recover quickly.

Yeah, I feel like 4 asterisks. LOL. Been sleeping most of the day, every time I get up I have to make a dash to the bathroom. When I get on the computer, it is only for 15 minutes at a time, then I have to go lay back down. This last time I got up I did not have to toss my cookies, and I have been on the computer for 15 minutes already, and still able to be here. I still feel lousy, but I think my body is finally getting ahead of this bug. I have not eaten or drank anything since 7pm last night, and until my stomach starts to tell me it is hungry, I will not. I don't want to make anymore trips to the bathroom.

Joe, if I am feeling better tomorrow, I can come over to your place and help you out.

Scott, don't like the taste of Gatorade, but I do like 7Up. However, all I have here is orange juice, apple juice, and 2% milk (bleah) which I only use for breakfast cereals because I don't like the taste of it either. However, the cereal changes the taste, so it is tolerable. Will pick up some 7up next time I am out.

Glad your feeling a tad bit better , no citrus has acid. and apple will clear you out, ( could be good but a lot of sugar),water will bloat, down the gater has the sodium to Hydrade a little at a time wont hurt on ICE and noodle soap or saltines, don't get dehydrated. wish you the Best.
