Busy time here. The youth baseball playoff tournaments are finally behind us.
The sawmill's engine called it quits, and a new engine was delivered Tuesday by FedEx. The old Lombardini engine had well over 10K hours at 3100 RPM so it had done it's job very well. I peeled all of the wiring, hoses, and alternator off of the old engine yesterday and hopefully will set the new engine on the sawmill this morning.
We are into the last week of voting in the Wood-Mizer Personal Best contest. My entry is now on page 4.
The new engine is on the sawmill and the clutch linkage adjustment is all that is left to do. Well that and bolt the alternator mounting bracket to the engine. The changover went smoothly.

Haven't stopped by as i've been busy with life but now things are starting to calm down again. Finally got the valve covers off my F100 and lo and behold the valve seals are trash. I'm going to clean the remains out of the head as best i can, change the oil and drive it for awhile. It smokes a little on first start but i can deal with that until i get the cash to fix it properly.
I'm also hoping to be at the CTC meet this year, going to try and take some time off from work to make it happen hopefully.
Hello. Just checking in. I got the trans changed out in the 97 I just bought. I found a 2004 FX4 with a bad engine. I also found a wrecked 04 with a good engine. The FX4 has $3000.00 worth of tires and wheels. Still thinking about what to do. I will have $2800.00 in both trucks. What do yall think ? I have a lot of projects that I am working on now. This deal wont last long.
Lynn, do you have to send the orig back as a core or do you rebuild?
Tim, changing a set of umbrella seals is cheap & can cut consumption greatly.
Dang Gator, I wish I had your problems.
I had a whole list of to do stuff for my ONE (1) truck but managed to drill my right index finger (Phillips bit) Friday installing a front door that got trashed in a break in at a friend's house. Been useless pretty much then, scept for being cheif assistant maid.
Good afternoon everyone, hope everyones weekend went well. Any progress on your truck David? I have yet to get to my coil springs or electric fan. Hopefully next week I can mark one of them off the list...
Uh, David, maybe you should put a restraining order out to keep you from yourself...
This might be a good idea. See if you can't get a two-for because I need one as well!
In all seriousness if I can find the valve seals i'll pick them up and replace them as soon as I can. A big block with factory a/c is not easy to work on, and the passenger side of the engine is in a really unforgiving spot. That is going to be the worst, the drivers side should not be that hard.

This is a new engine, so there is no core swap. If I can find someone needing injectors, etc. I will part this one out, but I would rather just sell it and be done. It is rebuildable, but my sawing schedule would not allow for that.
