Transfer case shift boot and retainer

I'm in need of a transfer case boot and retainer for my 64 i have found boots for the 73-79 trucks but can't find a retainer does anyone have a pic of an original boot for the 64 truck my shifter seems to have a pretty long throw so I would assume its an oblong boot but I've never seen one

Thanks in advance

Same here. IIRC, the dent boots are a little shorter (length wise).

Illustration from 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog / Applications from 1957/63 & 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalogs.

No retainer listed or illustrated until 1966 F100 4WD, which uses a different boot.

C1TB-7B059-A .. Transfer Case & Shift Lever Boot / 7 1/2" long x 3.94" wide x 5" high / Obsolete

1961/65 F100/250 4WD / 1966 F250 4WD // 1961/72 F950/1100 with 12 speed trans.

NOS PARTS LTD in Waxahachie TX has 1 = 972-937-2201 / No Ford Dealer, no other obsolete parts vendor has any.

Notice that the correct boot is not oval, it's rectangular...proven by its specs.

I am fairly confident that if you ask any 4X4 slick owner (excluding '66 1/2 tons), they can tell you that both hole in the floor and the metal ring (if present) are indeed a rectangle, with round ends.

I'm not laughing at you, just the parts book.
What's your problemo? I posted the parts catalog pic of the boot and listed its specs.

And, I edited in the not oval comment after I read what schoo typed in post 2.

I assume he's not one of your confident 4WD slick owners, since he said the boot is oval!

Click on the link from my 65 build down in the projects section. That is a boot I used out of a 67 or 68 from pull and save. Top is torn a little so I use an aftermarket shifter cover for it for now. It did have an oval based boot to start with but so rotten it could not be used.

Here you go the trans cover and obround hole with hold down bracket for the old worn out TC case shifter boot.

Try Bronco Graveyard you may be able to sub in a boot from a later model truck. As far as I know there are no repops on the TC shift boots for our trucks. You might be able to find one on Ebay sometime.

Above quoted from post #6. It might still be available ... 7 days after I typed the info.

Obsolete parts are hard to find. If you snooze...you lose.
