Hey Guys, I'm dealing with a transfer case problem I'm hoping someone may have some ideas on where to start. 89 F250 7.5 5speed. Manual hubs, manual transfer case shifter. So last night I put my truck in 4 low to tow my ski boat up my long gravel driveway. I noticed the transfer case shifter seemed to be moving back and forth a little bit. I heard a kind of popping sound when I first started moving, like something was in a bind but it only did it once. So this morning I went to use the truck and I could immediately tell its stuck in low range. I took it out of 4wd last night, but hadn't gone anywhere. So far I've confirmed the linkage is moving the lever arm on the transfer case. I can also confirm that it is in low range regardless of the ****er position 2H,4H,N or 4L.
Any tips on where to begin would be appreciated. I'll probably be pulling it later this week. Hopefully it's something that can be fixed rather than needing to replace it. Thanks
