Looking for Highboy Frame Perches

Howdy all. I tried posting this in the classified section, but got no hits. I figured this would be the place since there are plenty of Highboy owners on here.

I have a restored '66 body on a powdercoated '71 highboy chassis. Finally decided on an engine. Problem is, I lost the factory engine mount frame perches in a move. I recently decided to install a 1996 300 I6 and zf5 from an f150 and was wondering if anyone has any extra highboy perches to mount a 300 six? I know they are the same as FE ones, but does the 300 installed on FE mounts have different mounting brackets on the engine side, or do the insulators mount directly to the engine and the perches just get installed in the far forward position? I'll need everything to mount this engine my truck because currently I have nothing at all.

Information or parts would be appreciated...

Thanks, Sam

F100/250 240/300 w/4WD not the same as F100/250 FE w/4WD.

4WD's do not have perches, as there's no engine cross member to bolt them to like there is on 2WD's. 4WD engine brackets (supports) bolt to inner frame rails.

D6TZ-6028-A (replaced C6TZ-6028-C) Right & D6TZ-6029-A (replaced C6TZ-6029-E) Left .. 4WD Front Engine Mount Brackets / Obsolete

1966 F100 240/300 / 1967/74 F100/250 240/300 / 1975/76 F100/250 300 / 1977 F250 300 before serial number Y20,001 / 1977/79 F150 300.

Doesn't the 240/300 use the same engine supports as the 360? The parts diagram dated Jan 75 shows no mention of having two different engine supports between the Six and the V-8, only the engine isolators.

4WD uses different brackets than 2WD

You cannot go by parts catalog diagrams (illustrations) as all you're seeing is basic part numbers which are the same 2WD/4WD.

The text section is required to get the full part number, by adding the prefix and suffix to the basic part number.

Upper pics: Here's the info from the 1964/72 text catalog. The 240/300 4WD part numbers were replaced in 1976 (see post 2).

Left upper: 240/300 / Right upper: 352/360 (390).

Left/Right lower 4WD & 2WD: 240/300/352/360(390) = same basic part numbers.

Still confused are the engine supports for the 300 the same as the for the 360 or not? and vise versa. I have a 1974 f250 4x4 looking to swap in a 300 and pulled out a 360.

Move the engine mounts to the front set of holes for use with the 300.

Thanks bud! I tried doing that this morning and it seems the front vertical holes inside frame have nowhere to go. Did not try yet but is it possible that I need to swap from side to side?
Thanks

Look at the frame and you'll see extra set of holes about 2" or so forward of the 360 frame holes. You'll also need clutch linkage & a different bell housing exh. pipe, shock mounts may have to be moved forward too. orich

I've got all the other mentioned stuff figured out I already had it set up for a 351c with the zf5 so the clutch master and slave is done but for some reason when mounts are moved forward the front two holes are covered up by the mount that's why I was wondering if they needed to be swapped from side to side

Btw the only reason I made mention of the 360 is because that is what I pulled when installed 351c.

The mounts will notswitch left to right change sides per the way their designed. One side is a little longer arch then the other side is.
I don't think you had the bolts lined up to go through the other side frame holes..orich

Well, I moved the mounts forward and that worked. Had to slot the front holes to get them to bolt on the front set of holes on both brackets. I ordered new engine mounts/ insulators. but had to order them from a 75 highboy cause the o-reiley website did not show the 74 with the 300ci. only the 240ci. Hopefully they are the same if not I will order them for the 240ci. and hope they fit.
