i have a 92 f150 5.0l and one day i drove it and it would idle really high and it varies in sped abit up and down, when i drive down the street its like i'm using cruise control when i'm not because of how high my rpms are. do i have a bad sensor or something? -thanks in advance

With the key on, engine not running, back probe the ground and signal wires with a multimeter. With the throttle closed, voltage should be .5-1.0 VDC, manually open the throttle fully, check voltage again, should be 4.0-5.0 VDC. The voltage should start changing as soon as you start moving the throttle.
