2013 tailgate

so I know that the newer tailgates fit but wasn't sure about the 2013's. will it fit my 2001. I read somewhere that I will need to buy some part for the driver side. is this correct?

Yup just put a 2013 on my 2003. cant tell you about the new drivers side hinge though, my tailgate came with it

Yes they will fit you'll need a new drivers side roller. That will allow the rotation bar inside the tailgate to operate.
